1.Child Protection Services:
Children are particularly vulnerable during emergencies. DDA continues to provide child-friendly spaces, psychosocial support, provision of temporary care and tracing and reunification services to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children in the affected communities in their response to the floods. This will ensure that separated children are reunited with their parents or caregivers and are not at risk of exploitation or abuse. In the last 2 weeks alone 20 cases (12 boys and 8 girls) of unaccompanied (14) and separated (6) children (UASC) have been registered. DDA reunified 13 of the children with their parents or guardians while the remaining 7 have been placed under foster care.2. . Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response:
Women and girls are particularly vulnerable to genderbased violence during emergencies. DDA continues to provide safe spaces, GBV prevention and response services. including the provision of safe spaces, psychosocial support, and referrals to medical and legal services and training for local responders to prevent and respond to GBV. This will help prevent and respond to incidents of GBV against women and girls in the affected population. In the last 2 Days alone, 49 incidences (25 girls and 24 women) of GBV were reported in Bulo marer. DDA continues to offer multi sectorial services including support with dignity kits and case management services to all GBV survivors.
